Based on aggregated customer feedback, we identified that an important gap in our product was that while we supported management of several compliance standards, the experience felt disjointed rather than joined up. For example, an organisation has one password policy. One standard might refer to that password policy in three places. And a second standard might refer to it as well. The same practice needs to be described in four places, creating four times as much work up-front and in terms of the ongoing review cycle. And if the policy is later tightened, those four instances need to be identified and separately updated. If there was a single source of truth that could be referenced by multiple documents, there would be less work.
I was a key player in clarifying the problem, generating a solution and iteratively refining it based on customer and internal stakeholder feedback.
This is a very ambitious reimagining of our product architecture and experience and is ongoing work. An ambitious version of this exists as an interactive prototype.
